Our History

Established in 1989 by Dave Bromley, our family-run business has grown from a single-vehicle operation to become a trusted name in the HIAB specialist loader training industry.

We’ve achieved significant milestones, including pioneering specialised HIAB transport services and actively contributing to industry standards through our association with the Road Haulage Association. Our commitment to excellence extends to our membership in the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (ALLMI) since 2017.

In 2019, we celebrated our 30th anniversary by expanding our fleet and renewing our commitment to sustainability. As we continue to shape the future of HIAB training, our multi-generational team ensures that our legacy of expertise and dedication remains at the forefront of our industry.

Our skills academy is based out of Audenshaw, Manchester. Our training centre is designed to provide an immersive and hands-on learning experience for all our HIAB-specialised training courses. Establishment

- 1989

Founded in 1989 by Dave Bromley, our family business began with a single vehicle and operated from Hill Top Farm. Initially known as D. Bromley and Sons, we embarked on a journey towards excellence.

First Customer

- Aggreko Generators

Our first major milestone was securing Aggreko Generators as our inaugural customer. They operated from their Manchester depot, marking the initiation of our dedication to delivering high-quality transportation services.

Specialisation in HIAB Transport

- Leading HIAB specialists

We recognised an opportunity to excel in HIAB transport services, offering a unique and specialised solution to the industry. For an extended period, we proudly managed the largest HIAB in the northwest, affectionately known as ‘Mother.’

Involvement in Industry Associations

- Improving Industry Standards

We have actively participated in industry associations, most notably the Road Haulage Association. Our contributions extended to management roles within the Northern Regional Council, where we actively influenced industry standards.

Expansions and Relocations

- Moving to Chadderton

Our business has grown significantly over the years, necessitating several relocations. We moved from Hill Top Farm to Mossley, followed by a transition to Neild Street in Oldham, and ultimately established our skills academy based out of Audenshaw, Manchester.

Leadership Transition

- 2011

Lance Bromley took on the role of Transport Manager, marking a new era of leadership and dedication to our business. HTF Skills Academy remains a testament to family dedication, with three generations actively involved in the company’s operations and success.

ALLMI Membership

- 2017

We became proud members of the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (ALLMI), further emphasising our commitment to excellence and safety in our services.

30th Anniversary Celebration

- 2019

Our 30th anniversary marked a significant milestone, accompanied by the expansion of our fleet to 16 vehicles. Plans for continual growth and fleet renewal were initiated, aligning with our dedication to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.

Skills Academy is Formed

The journey of HTF Skills Academy began with a collective passion for elevating safety standards and proficiency in the operation of forklifts and lorry loaders.

RTITB Forklift Certified
